12th Entry Bus Com Class

My views on another presentation: Today we all had our presentations, 5 teams and lots of hard work. I really liked how different teams were coming up with different solutions. Some of the teams were focusing on the importance of using technology in the intuitions unlike introducing our products as we did. I wasn't expecting that, because I though we all were coming up with our business plans regarding education technologies. The first team had great style in their presentation. It was very pleasant to listen their speeches. Second team used a style that I might not choose to use personally. The images were kind of big and I learned from a graphic designer that when images are to close to the sides it creates this overwhelming effect. I also congratulate third and fourth team who used data regarding  usage of technology in a way that capturing our interest. I loved listening all the teams.   My views on our presentation I want to make three points regarding our pres...

General Course of the Class: Today was about making our edits on our presentation, deciding the our roles, and discussing our presentations with Rab. We started off with going to breakout rooms. Judi and I started to discuss our speeches and presentations. Zehra has very sick and she joined us later. Later, we realized there were problems with the mouth, head, heart order. We changed Judi's place with Zehra's. We merged Judi's presentation with mine. Finally, we asked our questions to Rab when he visited us. He made comments on how we should change our font, make all the style same throughout the slides. I asked him about the duties of mouth and heart one more time to clarify everything. Rab's final comments was not to fill the slides with bullet points.  My Reaction: Working as a group, merging the different styles and asking our questions to our Rab was today's highlights. Meeting to make our final edits showed me that we were not working as a group but more of i...

General Course of the Class:  Today aim was to learn making presentation with PSE style. Even though we discussed in the class before that we should put less text in our slides, once again we started off with discussing how using bullet points in slides makes the audience incapable of comprehending the content. Rab then showed us presentation slides which were designed poorly and filled with bullet points. He also conducted interactive activities to help us better understand its uselessness. Later on, after we moved on the document about the 7 Principles of a good presentation based on a Zen technique. Speaker emphasized the importance of using naturalness and simplicity throughout the presentation. He gave the some examples from designs with so much visual content and 3D graphs. Finally Rab stressed the principles of CRAP (Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity). He stated that using the same style and an aligned form throughout the slides is very important. Repeating the ...

General Course of the Class: Today we spend time discussing mainly on how to prepare our presentations. We examined some of the old works of Rab's students. We went through their websites and blogs to develop a better understanding of preparing our projects. There were many graphic designs which was not expected of us to prepare but Rab shared it with us so we have a better understanding. Then we moved on to what do we need to prepare as content in our blogs. Rab introduced us three types of visual content; infographics, brochure and magazine articles. We learnt that the difference was based on visual and content ratio. Finally we talked about presentations. He talked about two main variations in presentations; PSE and slideument. The purpose of PSE was making live presentations and slideument's purpose is for distribution. He emphasized the importance of visual content and title. Today was very helpful for us to differentiate between bad and good designs. My Reaction: Firstl...
