 General Course of the Class:

Today was about making our edits on our presentation, deciding the our roles, and discussing our presentations with Rab. We started off with going to breakout rooms. Judi and I started to discuss our speeches and presentations. Zehra has very sick and she joined us later. Later, we realized there were problems with the mouth, head, heart order. We changed Judi's place with Zehra's. We merged Judi's presentation with mine. Finally, we asked our questions to Rab when he visited us. He made comments on how we should change our font, make all the style same throughout the slides. I asked him about the duties of mouth and heart one more time to clarify everything. Rab's final comments was not to fill the slides with bullet points. 

My Reaction:

Working as a group, merging the different styles and asking our questions to our Rab was today's highlights. Meeting to make our final edits showed me that we were not working as a group but more of individuals trying to do their bests. When we came together in the breakout room, that became the first thing I decided to improve. Later, I realized couple more problems about the content and stylistic differences. It was hard to solve at first due to my respect for everyone's effort. I solved this problem with talking everything thoroughly with my team members. Finally, asking all of our questions to Rab was helpful on so many levels. My confusion on the timing, style and content was solved. Rab is always very helpful and giving us all the opportunities to better explain ourselves.

In a lecture I recently atteneded, I learned somehting new in terms of the concept of climate change. Even though I knew that countries such as US and China is quite high in terms of Carbon emission, I haven't thought about the big responsibilities upon the shoulders of those countries compared to other countries which are far below rates of the top 3 countries.  When think about how we can achieve climate justice, the first thing I need is the definition. Nigeria and Measles

 Nigeria is the most effected country from measles compared to the other countries. One of the major causes of child deaths is measles according to IDP (internally displaced persons) camps reports. The special condition of Nigeria is also linked with low routine immunization (RI) coverage, because Nigeria  has experienced these outbreaks repeatedly. Large measles outbreaks are affected Nigeria in 2019 and UNICEF and WHO declared that and 79 percent increase occurred in the 2022. Borno State is the most affected of all. As of August 20202, Global Measles Outbreaks page is updated and Nigeria has a record of 18,628 cases (WHO Data). Another problem is that US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that many countries already put off measles campaigns due to COVID-19 pandemic.
