4th Entry - Bus Com Class

I was sick in today's class and I couldn't attend. So I read around three entries on 4th week and requested one from one of my friends to catch me up on the class. Here is my blog entry based on the information I recieved: General Course of the Class: Today's main focus was first of all the checking out other university's websites, choosing "fonts" properly and preparing a brochure for TUFS University.  Class started off with checking Hong Kong University's webpage we learned that there are useful sources for e-learning and and helpful links to student club's. Later, s tudents are sent to breakout rooms and everyone searched for webpages of universities in different countries. I searched for MIT University's webpage since it is the leading technology center for higher education. Best feature I encountered with in the webpage was it was  searching for one topic and easily moving to another related page with integrated links in the text of the page. ...

3rd Entry- Bus Com Class

General Course of the Class: Today's main focus was making an introduction to presentations.  Firstly, we started off with having a 10 minutes conversation with our team just to talk about our personalities. Rab did not give us any clue on why we had such a conversation with our friends. Only thing he told us was where are supposed to make presentations and we need to decide on who will play which role during the presentation which are mouth, brain or the heart. In our group, 5th group, it only took us 2 minutes to decide who will be whom.  Then we moved on to presentation topics. There were three main topics. First topic was dealing with  economics/trade/development/marketing/PR. The second one was focused on pollution/environment/politics/economics/creativity. The third one that we agreed on as a class to deliver our presentation within couple weeks were about ICT/education technologies/digital literacy. Finally, Rab made a presentation on the digital literacy levels ...

Dikkat! Bu blog yazısı 10 maddede aradığınız kariyeri bulma rehberi değildir. Okuma süresi yaklaşık 10 dk dır. Geçen haftalarda 4 haftalık bir süreç geçirdim Career Design dersinde. Yaşadığım süreç benim için dönüştürücüydü o nedenle paylaşmak istedim. Müfredat şu şekildeydi: 1. hafta:  1-“3 or more types of work you would like to do after graduating from university”  Write 200-400 words. 2-“Describe 4 or more aspects ("selection criteria") about your future career that are important to you. For example, location, salary, teamwork, opportunities to develop skills etc.” Write 200-400 words with handwriting. 2.hafta 1-"Make a consequence table" Write 200-400 words. (Örneği aşağıya koydum; istediğin işleri sırala sonra 1-3 arası belirlediğin kriterler üzerinden puan ver) 2-Explain (1) why you chose the jobs you chose for your consequence table, (2) why you chose the selection criteria you chose and (3) why you gave each job the score that you gave. Write 200-40...

2nd Entry- Bus Com Class

General Course of the Class: Today's main focus was learning an RSS program, making a discussion on a sample CV, and learning how to prepare a good CV.  Firstly, we started off with learning how our blogs will be gathered all in one website called Feedly, the RSS. It was eye-opening for me to learn about Feedly. I am actually super thrilled to learn about such a website and its applications. I figured out that with using such a program I can be more up to date on topics I care about most such as technology and scientific revolutions. Then we moved on to making a discussion about a sample CV provided by Rab. We answered Rab's questions on what makes a good photo to upload into a CV. Talking about important details thought me couple things to keep in my mind for further occasions. For example, I didn't know that the background of a photograph we upload in our CV should be cleared out. Finally, Rab shared some useful tips and websites for preparing a perfect resume. To clear t...
