2nd Entry- Bus Com Class

General Course of the Class:

Today's main focus was learning an RSS program, making a discussion on a sample CV, and learning how to prepare a good CV.  Firstly, we started off with learning how our blogs will be gathered all in one website called Feedly, the RSS. It was eye-opening for me to learn about Feedly. I am actually super thrilled to learn about such a website and its applications. I figured out that with using such a program I can be more up to date on topics I care about most such as technology and scientific revolutions. Then we moved on to making a discussion about a sample CV provided by Rab. We answered Rab's questions on what makes a good photo to upload into a CV. Talking about important details thought me couple things to keep in my mind for further occasions. For example, I didn't know that the background of a photograph we upload in our CV should be cleared out. Finally, Rab shared some useful tips and websites for preparing a perfect resume. To clear the background, https://www.remove.bg/ provides useful tools. Additionally, Rab shared his own biography on https://about.me/ to explain what is necessary in terms of format and content. In today's class I learned what is necessary to put into our biography by including our personal experiences by delivering them in a language that can reflect our professional capabilities.

My Reaction:

Feedly, about.me website and the doc shared with us in the hyperdocument was so intriguing for me. Firstly, I am super into learning about a program which helps user to collect many input from a variety. I will look more into the other features of this website as soon as possible. I am mostly excited about gathering lots of news into my feed so that I will only see what I am interested in. Second thing that was surprising for me that Rab recommended us to use about.me to have biography of our own. I didn't know about this website. I was only using LinkedIn so far. I will look more into it and hopefully prepare my biography on this website. Finally, the document on how to form a good CV that includes detailed information provided by Rab was very informative. There were lots of important aspects that we need to pay attention to if we want to leave our audience with a good impression. I will combine what I learn in this class with my knowledge from a network workshop on how to use LinkedIn efficiently. Today's focus was details of a proper resume and now I will move on to preparing my own.

In a lecture I recently atteneded, I learned somehting new in terms of the concept of climate change. Even though I knew that countries such as US and China is quite high in terms of Carbon emission, I haven't thought about the big responsibilities upon the shoulders of those countries compared to other countries which are far below rates of the top 3 countries.  When think about how we can achieve climate justice, the first thing I need is the definition. Nigeria and Measles

 Nigeria is the most effected country from measles compared to the other countries. One of the major causes of child deaths is measles according to IDP (internally displaced persons) camps reports. The special condition of Nigeria is also linked with low routine immunization (RI) coverage, because Nigeria  has experienced these outbreaks repeatedly. Large measles outbreaks are affected Nigeria in 2019 and UNICEF and WHO declared that and 79 percent increase occurred in the 2022. Borno State is the most affected of all. As of August 20202, Global Measles Outbreaks page is updated and Nigeria has a record of 18,628 cases (WHO Data). Another problem is that US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that many countries already put off measles campaigns due to COVID-19 pandemic. Why we as woman feel less? What makes us feel less?
