"You aspire to be amazing in both realms, but you're really..."

I watched this: Have Feminists Sold Young Women a Fiction? - YouTube And read these two articles:  Why Women Still Can’t Have It All - The Atlantic Having It All—and Hating It - The Atlantic Maybe we can challange the idea of "having it all". Why we as woman feel less? What makes us feel less? Here is a qute from "Having It All—and Hating It": "(...) social media beckons its users compare every element of their lives to everyone else’s in a very public space, and then feel inadequate about not filling their feeds with smiling, well-appointed children nibbling perfectly composed, locally-sourced dinners."

Nigeria and Measles

Nigeria is the most effected country from measles compared to the other countries. One of the major causes of child deaths is measles according to IDP (internally displaced persons) camps reports. The special condition of Nigeria is also linked with low routine immunization (RI) coverage, because Nigeria  has experienced these outbreaks repeatedly. Large measles outbreaks are affected Nigeria in 2019 and UNICEF and WHO declared that and 79 percent increase occurred in the 2022. Borno State is the most affected of all. As of August 20202, Global Measles Outbreaks page is updated and Nigeria has a record of 18,628 cases (WHO Data). Another problem is that US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that many countries already put off measles campaigns due to COVID-19 pandemic. This may result in bigger outbreaks not only in Nigeria but all around the world.     Current solutions are conventional vaccination teams, an outbreak response immunization (ORI) ...

Climate Justice?

In a lecture I recently atteneded, I learned somehting new in terms of the concept of climate change. Even though I knew that countries such as US and China is quite high in terms of Carbon emission, I haven't thought about the big responsibilities upon the shoulders of those countries compared to other countries which are far below rates of the top 3 countries.  When think about how we can achieve climate justice, the first thing I need is the definition. When I looked it up on the internet, I saw that it means that each country taking responsibility for battling climate crisis and benefitting from the results fairly. According to this definition, here are my solutions.  Firstly, all countries need to choose private or governmental agencies that will be trusted by all other countries that can determine each country's contribution to carbon emission. If these actions has to be taken together to provide climate justice, that means they have to accept the regulations which will ...

Family, Tradition, Women and Men

The issue with being a man and a woman I believe is an issue that comes as a a result of the toxicity of the male and female behaviors. That is why I am trying to come up a with a perspective (definition of the problems, solutions etc.) which serve men and women equally since both parties and the society as a whole are suffering drastically.  Even though I am raised in a traditional Turkish household where women is respectful to their fathers and husbands, and caring for their families by cooking, cleaning, providing the main child care and educating their children in early development years (while they have the option of working because they have good education and can find a job easily, but voluntarily chose to spend their time in house and manage household duties) it would be very unfair of me to say it was toxic just because there was a hierarchy that was respected by both woman and man. Also, calling women opressed because they do these works is very disrespectful to woman too...
