General Course of the Class:
Today we talked about inflexible costumer services, some deep-seated problem in the corporation life, making changes in our project was the main topics of today. Rab gave examples from Sony and a pizza chain. Not providing language options in their website and poor costumer services were discussed. Some of my friends strongly agreed with this problem too. Rab mentioned how young people and women do not have much effect on making the workplace more flexible and creative. This may be problematic and demotivating for some of the young people or anyone who feels powerless because of these conditions which are not specific to Japan by the way. Finally, with out team we focused on 7P's (7P's of Marketing) and AISDALove in addition to previous weeks 4P's. AISDALove model consists of Attention, Interest, Search, Desire, Action, Like/dislike, Share, and Love/hate. Considering what would be environmentally sustainable too was our concern too while discussing with my team in the breakout room. Today we discussed the inconvenient situation in work place, difficulty in making a change and some new marketing strategies.
My Reaction:
Today following conventional ways in work place, making a change and considering what we want with our future were main topics I am interested in. I think there a logic behind everything but that logics is not necessarily morally good or bad. Following conventional ways is up to us and it something that young generation is tested with. The test here is, simply taking what is compatible with our outlook of life and leave behind what is not. Young people must try to keep holding onto their dreams on the promising future they want. It may make us feel not good enough time to time. But for the sake of a better today and a better future, we need to be willing to be crafters of a world that we want to live in. Rab shared that women in work are not considered as trustworthy and capable as men in the same work line. That caused us thinking if is there anything we can do about it. My personal approach is not approaching anything with prejudice as in limiting our abilities to do our work, but make peace with what happens. To sum up, I think since we are an imaginary company for now, the problems we deal with such as inefficient conventional models, not feeling enough to make a change and deciding what we want to become in the future are not big enough to drive us crazy
